Ability Housing is a nonprofit real estate developer in Florida founded in 1992. It began as a group home for 6 adults with developmental disabilities. By 2006, it expanded into multifamily rental housing for low-income households, people with disabilities, and those exiting homelessness. In 2015, it further expanded its geographic scope into Central Florida. The organization develops, renovates, and manages multifamily affordable and supportive housing. It operates programs such as the Villages Program (multifamily communities), CASA (single-family rentals for adults with disabilities), and HousingLink (permanent supportive housing) in both Northeast and Central Florida. Ability Housing is targeting the creation of an additional 2,235 units of affordable housing by 2030. Their portfolio includes over 800 rental units under management, and the Villages Program in 2021 included 653 units across nine multifamily communities.
