Bridge Meadows is a nonprofit that develops and operates intergenerational housing communities combining affordable apartments for seniors (55+), foster youth, and their caregiver families. The organization was founded in 2005. Its first community opened in North Portland in 2011, making it the first urban intergenerational housing model of its kind. Bridge Meadows currently has communities in at least three Oregon locations: Portland, Beaverton, and Redmond. It also developed a transitional housing project called “New Meadows” with 14 units for youth aging out of foster care. In one Beaverton site they built 37 mixed-income units on 2.16 acres in two stories. Their real estate focus is on multifamily affordable housing, mixed-income senior/foster parent/family units, and transitional housing for vulnerable youth.
