Pacific Coast Building Products (PCBP) was founded on February 17, 1953, when Fred Anderson opened Anderson Lumber in Sacramento, California. The company has been in operation for over 70 years and remains family-owned. PCBP is a holding company for eight principal operating subsidiaries covering building product manufacturing, distribution, specialty contracting, transportation, business services, and real estate. The real estate arm, PCBP Properties, Inc., is a wholly owned subsidiary that invests in and manages properties throughout the western United States. Many of these properties are leased to other PCBP companies; some are leased to outside tenants or held purely for investment. Recent transactions show PCBP Properties acquiring industrial real estate: for example, in December 2024 it purchased an 80,150-square-foot industrial/logistics facility in Puyallup, Washington for about US$12.5 million.
