Fortress Investment Group was founded in 1998 and has operated for over 25 years in global investment management. As of June 30, 2025, Fortress manages approximately US$53 billion in assets. In its real estate business, Fortress focuses on three main areas: real estate equity, real estate debt, and net lease investments. The equity arm has been investing since 2009, deploying over US$10 billion across more than 400 transactions globally. Since 2020, the real estate equity team has put in over US$4.3 billion of new equity in markets including the United States, Japan and Western Europe. Fortress targets mid-sized opportunities, including sale-leaseback corporate properties, senior housing, long-term leased stable income assets, and “core+” real estate with income growth and capital appreciation potential. The firm also takes on real estate special situations, distressed debt, and debt securities in the US and Europe.
