Founded in 1993 by Jim Chanin, the business initially focused on custom single-family home construction in communities including Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, and Westminster. In 1996, the company expanded into multifamily construction projects throughout the Denver market. To date, it has constructed more than 800 residential units across both single-family and multifamily developments. The company's activities extend beyond vertical construction into land development. Since adding this capability in 1997, Chanin Development has developed more than 800 finished lots. Its portfolio includes mixed-density residential communities, urban infill developments, adaptive redevelopment projects, and high-density mixed-use residential properties. Representative projects include a 270-unit mixed-density residential community, a 233-unit adaptive redevelopment of an urban infill site, and smaller detached urban infill developments.
