Skanska is a global project development and construction company founded in 1887. In the U.S., its operations began in 1971 with a project on the 63rd Street subway line in New York, and today the U.S. arm employs over 6,300 people across 28 offices. In 2024, Skanska USA generated about $8.2 billion in revenue, accounting for nearly half of Skanska’s global revenue. Skanska organizes its real estate development into residential, commercial property development, and investment-property streams. In the U.S., Skanska USA Commercial Development, established in 2009, has completed more than 7.8 million square feet of sustainable office, lab, and multi-family projects. Its development portfolio includes OZMA (275 units plus ~7,700 SF retail) and Kaye (324 units projected) among other mixed-use and office projects. Meanwhile, on the residential side globally, Skanska develops single- and multi-family housing, especially in Nordic and European markets.
